The Riverside Art Museum always has something new on display. Right now, there are three special exhibitions on view: “Lucha Libre in LA,” “Light/Shadow/Reflection,” and “Endangered Species.”
“Lucha Libre in LA” examines how Mexican wrestling has evolved since its inception in the early 20th century. Through a series of photographs, costumes, and ephemera, this exhibition tells the story of how lucha libre has become an integral part of LA’s identity.
“Light/Shadow/Reflection” is a group exhibition that features works by four contemporary artists who use light as their primary medium. From site-specific installations to photography and video projections, this exhibition explores the many different ways that light can be used to create art.
“Endangered Species” includes paintings, drawings, and sculptures that depict animals that are endangered or extinct. This powerful exhibition highlights the importance of conservation and inspires viewers to take action to protect our planet’s wildlife.
